.
This is a very strange year so far.
My daffs are usually opening the very last of their buds when the tulips are still tightly closed and deciding whether it's time to open theirs.
Here is this years situation -
The daffodils are just barely beginning to open their buds:
And the tulips, who should be at least two to three weeks behind total bloom of the daffs, look like this:
I have never, ever had tulips this far along this early in the year. Certainly not trying to beat out the daff blooms! (See the hyacinth tucked in the tulip foliage? Not even thinking of sending up a bloom yet. Say what?)
Honestly, I don't blame the tulips for thinking it must be time. The weather has been complete wackiness for the last month, going from record 80's F temps back down to freezing every night for this coming week.
I think I'd be a tad confused myself.
I sure hope this wackiness doesn't continue through the summer. Three sucky growing years in a row would, well . . . suck!
Happy (bloomin' tulips!) Growing!

I Won!
.
I used to have the site Double Danger bookmarked on my computer.
Then we ran into some lightning (or should I say it ran into me) and my computer kinda caught on fire, along with everything else in the house that was plugged in, and I lost all my bookmarks.
Well, I found the site again the other day, and wow, am I glad I did!!
They are giving away a cool new garden product every day and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment. How easy is that?!
I did. And I won! How did that happen . . . I never win anything!
So, what did I win? I won (yeah, I like saying that, lol) Authentic Haven Brand natural brew manure teas from Annie.
I am so excited!
I really wanted to win those Fiskars pruners or loppers as my dollar store ones are really dull after years of use, but this is just as fantastic.
I can't wait to try it out on, well, everything!
Head on over to Double Danger and enter for today's prize.
You never know, you might win!

Grow Project 2
.
It's the first Sunday of the month, so here is my next post for the 2010 Grow Project.
Last month's post: Grow Project 1
I'm splitting the seeds into 4 different trials. This month it's the WS'd one.
They're snuggled in jugs with their bretheren:
I hope they don't decide to jump the gun too quickly, but if they do, it will give me a good opportunity to observe how they handle it!
"I'm growing Nasturtium "Spitfire" for the GROW project. Thanks, to Renee's Garden for the seeds."
