Are They Getting Smarter?

There's nothing better for speeding healing than plants and animals.

Samaritan Hospital's expansion plans will include a healing garden.

"Clinical studies have found that viewing nature produces positive changes in a patient’s blood pressure, heart activity, muscle tension and brain activity."

Are they finally learning?

The Weird & Wonderful

The weird:
I love, but this Gothic Graveyard Garden is just bizarre! But I think I'd actually like the Carnivorous Creations Terrarium. Ahem...and not for the kids!

The wonderful:
Although I'm in agreement with Colleen on disliking the seed mat/tape idea, I really like the whole concept of Blooming paper. Isn't that fab? I might even try making some for Christmas presents. Yup, I just might!

They've Arrived!

The seeds from Sharon, at The Willow Garden, came today!
I am soooo excited. I can't wait to start.
I think I'm more excited to garden this year than I have been since...ever!
There is nothing like handling packets of seed that will some day be green and beautiful (flowering if you're lucky).
Gee, have I mentioned that before?
Wow, what a fab growing season this is going to be!

I wonder how I'll fare in the patience department with Azaleas and Rhodies?
Guess I'll see.

Winter Boredom Rules My Time

Kerri passed this on and I really enjoyed reading her answers, so with nothing else to do with myself today (besides the usual drudgery of housework)...

1. What time did you get up this morning?
5:32 am. I slept in for an extra half hour. I am such a diva!

Bridget Jones' Diary.

4. What's your favourite TV show?
Paul James - Gardening by the Yard.

5. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
Nothing. I don't do breakfast, (or lunch) but I make sure my kids have breakfast. Well, how hypocritical is that?

6. What's your favourite cuisine?
Chinese! The kids and I adore Chinese, but D thinks it's some kind of invented punishment just for him. lol.

7. What foods do you dislike?
Chocolate, ice cream, french fries, ketchup, candy, etc. The list is pretty long.

8. What is your favourite chip flavour?
Ick! Chips are gross!

9. What's your favourite CD at the moment?
The soundtrack to Titanic. The louder the better!

11. Favourite sandwich?
Pineapple and cream cheese. It's good!

12. What characteristics do you despise?
Snobbiness, being judgemental and know-it-alls. (Good Lord, I just described my parents and half sister...what does that mean?)

15. What colour is your bathroom?
Which year? lol. Right now it's sort of a deep evergreen, and I love it! Maybe I'll stop repainting.

17 must be hanging in limbo somewhere in netland.

18. Favourite time of the day?
I'm with Kerri - early on a warm summer morning. There's nothing like that first cup of coffee sitting beside the pond, watching the koi glide gracefully through the water while the birds sing, butterflies and hummingbirds hover over beautiful blooms. ~sigh~ Is it summer yet?

24. What fabric detergent do you use?
I don't know...what's on sale this month?
