I saw one a couple days ago in the dining room, thought it a bit strange, squashed him and didn't think about it again.
Last night my daughter squished 6 on the dining room counter. This morning, I'm finding them all over the friggin' house!
WTF? Big black ants in January? We can't figure out where they're coming from. Maybe they moved into the house last fall, because we didn't have any trouble with them last summer.
It's not like they're confined to one space either . . . they're in every room. Not fun when you go to take a shower or use the potty and you better look before you sit or stick your feet in the tub!
I think it's very, very weird. Maybe the ants know something we don't, and that certainly wouldn't amount to anything good if they're foraging mid-winter!

Have you bought any new houseplants lately? I have a few in my sewing room/ plant nursery, they hitched a ride inside in the hibiscus pot.

I have bought some plants recently, (my 50 cent after-christmas deals) but I don't think it was from them as I had to drown the pots as soon as I got them home. (You know how those 'places' are about taking good care of their inventory!) There's like - 100's! We just can't figure it out!
