Not Such A Grand New Year

If this is the way all 2008 is going to go, I might as well curl up in a ball and hide.

My poor husband ended up spending his birthday in the ER with me. They don't have a clue what the problem is, but were more than happy to give me a prescription for 8 pills for 95 bucks.

Now, we find out my husband has had his identity stolen and at least one credit card opened in his name. At Sears! We have no idea how they got his info. He's never lost his wallet, doesn't put any info online...we've never evn bought anything online! Ever. They got everything - ss #, full name, fake driver's license (according to Sears it was checked when the card was opened and then when it was used - I don't believe it!!). Conveniently, they just installed new security hardware and didn't know how to set it up right, so the cameras have been dumping the security video footage after a week instead of keeping it. What a freaking coinkidink, eh? Can you say 'inept'? So, now we can't even get a picture of the freaking thief!

I am soooo pissed! We've been running around in circles trying to get everything cleared up, but no one wants to help you (the credit card people actually assumed hubby was lying when he called and told them he wasn't even in the friggin store!). We have no idea what other kinds of damage whoever this is might be doing with his info. You call to get a free credit report, they tell you to go online and get it. (yeah, I REALLY want to put all this info on the net now? NOT!). you go online to get it and it keeps saying 'sorry, unavailable - call'. WTF?

UGH!!
