Angels Among Us

Angel
an·gel (njl)
n.

A guardian spirit or guiding influence.
a. A kind and lovable person.
b. One who manifests goodness, purity, and selflessness.

Kim (Blackswamp_Girl) is exactly that.

Out of the mailbox yesterday afternoon came a most precious package. It was filled with flower, herb and vegetable seed packets - 30 of them! - with comments on how best to get some of the harder ones to grow.

She sent it simply out of the kindness of her heart, expecting nothing in return. Now, how do you say 'thank you' enough to someone for being that generous? It really meant so much to me and I can't even put it into words to express how grateful I am.

For the first time in my life I'll be able to have an herb garden! This may seem trifling to some, but to me it means more than I can say. I'm simply overwhelmed by her kindness.

So, Kim, from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you. Thank you for being so giving and generous to a stranger. Thank you for being kind to a fellow gardener. And, most of all, thank you for being an angel.

Awww, Tina, how sweet of you to post this! I can tell you that the only one who has ever called me an angel before is my grandmother, so it made my day. :)

Like I said, I'm just glad that you're growing them and giving them all good homes!
(30? There were really 30 different kinds of seeds in that package? Yikes--you might not be thankful for them once you have to start planting! lol.)

If it were me who gave you the seeds I think the best way you could show appreciation would be to keep me updated on their progress and what you think about them.

ukbob's right--I definitely want to know how they do for you! :)

Kim,
Trust me - you'll know! :) You'll probably get sick of knowing!

Bob,
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment! For sure I'll keep my progress with them updated. I hope I can live up to the challenge though! Kim is such a sweet person and I'd hate to let her down.

What a generous thing to do! I hope you have really good luck with the seeds. Are you planning to use them for winter sowing, or spring planting?

Kerri,
I think I'll try them both ways. Except, of course, for the obvious tenders. Those I'll have in every window sill in the house come March! lol. Oh, I can't wait to start! I'm so good at subduing my excitement, don't you think? ;)
